GAY ex LAHARPE in the Campine district. This study describes a few sites of Juncus canadensis in the Campine district, a species that was first found in Belgium in 1975. Now there are known about twenty sites, all of them in the Campine district. The stands of Juncus canadensis in Belgium are not typical. The species seems to appear in stands with rather different characters of acidity, moisture and nutritional ecology. The most constant environment of Juncus canadensis is the littoral area of slightly eutrophic, disturbed fens and lakes.
