Collinsia heterophylla

Collinsia heterophylla Buist ex Graham (California) – An exceptional and ephemeral escape from cultivation. Recorded only twice. At first in 2000, at the foot of a wall in the city of Brugge. In 2012 also observed in coastal woodland (Westhoek nature reserve) in Adinkerke.

Mabberley (2008) and others refer to this species as Collinsia bicolor Benth. (1835). However, this is an illegitimate homonym, posterior to Rafinesque’s C. bicolor (1824).
