Abstract:

Abstract. – Epilobium brachycarpum (Onagraceae), recently naturalised in the department Nord (France).
Epilobium brachycarpum C. Presl, native to North America, was discovered on several occasions in 2008 in
railway yards in Lille and in the surroundings of Maubeuge. It usually occurs in extreme abundance and, like
elsewhere in parts of Europe, seems to spread in a very fast way. Epilobium brachycarpum is briefly described,
its present locations are given and some ecological data are provided.
