Papaver hybridum

Papaver hybridum L. (Medit.) – A rare and always ephemeral alien. Perhaps first collected in 1880 in Leuven (rough ground). Also exceptionally seen as a wool alien in the Vesdre valley (1912) and occasionally elsewhere (e.g. Bouvegnez, Val-Benoit). In the past decades sometimes seen in the vicinity of granaries, unloading quays for cereals or along railway tracks in port areas, for instance in the ports of Antwerpen (1999-2000, 2017) and Roeselare (1994).
