Trachyspermum Link
Trachyspermum is, as traditionally circumscribed, an Old World genus of 15 species. All are native to Africa and parts of Asia (Mabberley 2008). One species, Trachyspermum ammi, is more or less widely grown as a medicinal plant or for its edible fruits.
Trachyspermum is a heterogeneous genus having uncertain generic boundaries with Pimpinella (Zhou & al. 2008). Trachyspermum ammi allies with Cyclospermum in tribe Pyramidoptereae.
