Tulipa x gesneriana

Tulipa xgesneriana L. (hort.) – A very frequent garden plant, but rather rarely found as a garden throw-out in road verges, on dumps and rough grounds. Usually at most shortly persisting and probably never becoming naturalized.
Tulipa xgesneriana is a garden tulip of complex hybrid origin and of unknown parentage. The plants currently known as such are derived from Tulipa gesneriana but no longer correspond with Linnaeus’ species (Christenhusz & al. 2013).
