Phlox subulata

Phlox subulata L. (NE USA, Canada) – A very rare and usually ephemeral escape from cultivation. Probably first documented from coastal dunes in Koksijde in 2009, where a small colony persists on the verge of nature reserve Fluithoekduinen. Since then also recorded in Boortmeerbeek and Gosselies.
Phlox subulata is a popular rock garden and cemetery plant (known as Moss Phlox) and is regularly reported as self-seeding in many other European countries as well.
